How to Prevent Needing a Tow

Getting towed can be a hassle, and it’s never fun to get towed when your car breaks down and you have no way to get it back to your home or your garage.

In order to prevent needing a tow due to roadside emergencies or other unfortunate events, here are three tips to follow:

  • Schedule regular maintenance for your vehicle. It’s always a good idea to have your vehicle in for regular maintenance roughly every 5,000 miles. Even if your car only needs an oil change, it’s important to keep an eye on how your car is functioning. Make sure it gets checked up on every so often so it’s in tip-top shape while you’re on the road. If you schedule regular maintenance for your vehicle, you’re more likely to catch anything that might eventually cause a problem and leave you stranded on the side of the road, needing a tow!
  • Know how to change your tires. It’s good driver’s etiquette to know how to change your tires. If you are well-versed in how to install a spare tire and switch out a flat one, then you’ll be able to avoid needing a tow. If you need a how-to guide on changing a tire, check out our blog post from earlier this year!
  • Keep an eye on your gas tank. Always keep an eye on your gas gauge, checking it before you start driving to your destination! Running out of gas is inconvenient, to say the least, and if you’re far enough away from a gas station when this happens, towing may be your only option.

Even if you follow these tips, emergencies happen, and when they do, contact Tow Pro at 888.695.1555 if you need a tow! We make the towing process as painless as possible, and we have plenty of towing services available for all your needs.
